In The modern era, artificial intelligence has created a positive impact on almost all the areas that includes helping the people those have mental illness by interacting with them. The difference between the traditional psychotherapist and AI based psychotherapist is that the latter is using a computer based system that can interact with the mental illness people with no involvement of therapist. The benefit of AI based system is that it can analyze a ton of data much more quickly using machine learning techniques that human could and provide effective way to treat the patients. Although the AI based system won¡¯t able to provide the emotional quotient that the human therapist could provide in the real time, but at least the system will interact with the patient frequently without any intervention and irritation. This paper provides an overall idea about the present situation of AI and its future in psychotherapy. The article will help the therapist and medical practitioners to understand the role clearly and effectively used the system to get maximum effectiveness in less amount of time.
