최근 수십 년 동안 대한민국은 사회적, 경제적으로 크게 성장했다. 이러한 대한민국의 빠른 성장은 한편으로는 범죄 발생을 심화시켰다. 특히 사회적 약자인 어린이, 여성을 상대로 벌어진 범죄가 증가하였다. 경찰은 범죄를 밝혀내고, 범인을 잡기 위해서 범죄를 분석한다. 과거에는 범죄를 분석하기 위해 통계적 방법을 주로 사용해왔지만 범죄 데이터의 양이 증가하면서 범죄를 분석하는 것이 어려워졌다. 본 논문에서는 실제 범죄 데이터 분석을 통해 대한민국에서 각 지역별로 발생한 범죄유형과 사회적 요인간의 상관관계를 분석한다. R 통계 소프트웨어를 이용해 서 상관관계행렬을 구성했고, 이 상관관계행렬을 통해서 사회적 요인들 간의 상관관계를 먼저 분석한 후, 범죄유형 과 사회적 요인 사이의 상관관계를 보여준다. 상관관계행렬을 이용한 분석 결과를 토대로 사회적 요인에 따라 범죄 유형 별 순위를 구성했다. 이러한 순위를 통해서 경찰은 범죄와 사회적 요인간의 상관관계를 파악하고, 대한민국에서 범죄율이 높은 지역을 집중적으로 관리할 수 있다. |

(English Abstract) |
In recent decades, South Korea has achieved significant social and economic growth. This rapid social and economic transition that occurred in South Korea is the main reason for a significant increase in crime against women and children, not only in terms of numbers, but also in the variety of crimes. The police agencies often use crime analysis in their efforts for better usage of police resources to discover crimes. In the past, police agencies have used various methods to analyze the crime data, such as statistical and computational methods. However, a big volume of crime data has made the process of analyzing crimes difficult. In this paper, we propose a study on relationship analysis between crime types and social attributes in South Korea using a real crime data set. We propose to measure the correlations between crime types and social attributes of South Korea’s each region. Using R statistical software, we construct the correlation matrices that show not only the relationship between crime types and social attributes, but also the relationship among various social attributes. Using the correlation matrices, we build a ranking of crime types according to the social attributes. This ranking is helpful for police agencies to concentrate their forces on the most problematic regions of South Korea. |
